Jordaan

The Jordaan district is home to some of the most beautiful and iconic views in Amsterdam, with gabled houses and canal bridges as far as the eye can see. On Saturdays you can visit the Noordermarkt, an outdoor market selling everything from grapefruit to gramophones. Winkel 43 is famous for its appeltaart – as Dutch as apple pie! The Anne Frank Huis is also in this neighborhood; don’t forget to buy your tickets in advance. When you’re in the neighborhood, you can’t miss the impressive Westerkerk, the very church whose bells Anne wrote about in her diary. The Jordaan district is also where you’ll find the Negen Straatjes (or Nine Streets), packed full with cute boutiques, restaurants and cafés. Lastly, no trip to the Jordaan is complete without pizza from our favorite pizzeria, La Perla.
