Starting at Flevopark, a bike ride along the Kanaaldijk and IJmeer will quickly take you into beautiful Dutch wilderness. You’ll see plenty of wild birds and sheep and end up in Muiden, a quaint historic town where the restored castle Muiderslot sits.
Flevopark
One of the newer parks in Amsterdam, Flevopark is right on the water and home to some of the coolest graffiti in Amsterdam.
Nesciobrug
This curved, steel suspension bridge is the country’s first and one of the longest bridges for bikes and pedestrians only.
Diemerpark
This is a nature reserve full of bunnies and birds.
Baai Van Ballast
One of my favorite views on the way to Muiden, this is another protected wildlife area on the edge of the IJmeer.
West Batterij
A cool 19th century military fortress built in Muiden.
Muiden
An ancient city with cobbled streets, tiny cafés and boats. Oh, and also a castle.
Muiderslot
A renovated medieval castle with live falconry demonstrations.
